Smiling couple with Cerec one visit crowns

Do you wish to repair a deteriorating molar or injured tooth with a crown but dislike the hassle of multiple dental visits, messy impressions and temporaries? Dental crowns in Parma Heights are made beautiful, easy and quick with CEREC technology at Advanced Dental Center.

CEREC technology creates perfect restorations in just one dental appointment–with no impressions or temporaries

CEREC stands for “Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic.” Doctors Vladamir Khramoy and Caroline Salib of Advanced Dental Center are thrilled to present this restorative dentistry option to their patients needing full crowns, inlays and overlays to strengthen decayed tooth structure or injured teeth.

Instead of traditional methods of crowning teeth with gold, porcelain or porcelain and metal alloy caps, these skilled dentists employ modern imaging techniques and innovative computer software (CAD/CAM) to plan, design and actually fabricate a natural-looking crown or partial crown from a single block of dental grade porcelain. The restorations fit and function beautifully and feature excellent durability.

The CEREC procedure happens start to finish in about an hour

After determining from exam and x-rays that a patient would benefit from a dental crown, the Parma Heights dentist prepares the tooth by gently removing unhealthy tooth structure and old filling material. He or she uses sophisticated oral camera imaging to create a 3-dimensional picture of the tooth. Using this information, or optical impression,  in conjunction with computer-aided design software, the Parma Heights dentist creates instructions for a precisely fitting crown or partial crown.

The CEREC milling instrument takes the dentist’s design work and accurately translates it into a crown. The patient may even view the restoration as the CEREC machine manufactures it right in the treatment room! The manufacturing process takes about 20 minutes and creates a lifelike “tooth” ready for polishing and bonding into the patient’s mouth.

Dr. Khramoy or Salib carefully places the crown, but amazingly, little or no adjustment is necessary with CEREC restoration. Usually, the fit and bite are perfect the very first time. Patients are also pleased with the natural look and feel of their new restoration. Plus, CEREC crowns, inlays and onlays last for years with regular brushing, cleanings and check-ups at Advanced Dental Center.
